What is Raices?

Raices or "Roots", is all about bringing you the real stories behind exceptional Honduran coffee—farmer by farmer, cup by cup.

We're not just another coffee brand trying to sound fancy. We're people who fell in love with the farmers, the mountains, and the incredible coffee of Honduras. Every relationship we've built, every story we tell, every bean we roast—it's all real.

That's what "Raices" means to us—real roots, real relationships, real coffee.

Coffee brought us together, but stories keep us connected.

What We Believe

We believe coffee is more than a beverage—it's a bridge between cultures and communities. "Raíces" means roots in Spanish, and like roots, we believe in going deep—creating authentic connections that nourish both the soil where our coffee grows and the communities where it's enjoyed.

Our Farmers, Our Partners

We work directly with small-scale farmers in Honduras' most prestigious coffee regions, building relationships based on trust and shared values. We know our farmers by name, like Juan Carlos Vásquez and Nelson Dominguez who has become part of Raices family.

Every cup makes a difference

Our Roots, Your Impact

Our roots connect the volcanic soil of Honduras with your daily rituals. We pay 25% above market prices and support regenerative farming. When you choose Raíces, you're preserving traditional methods and becoming part of a story that continues in your cup.

Every bean tells a story. We're here to make sure you hear it.

How do I know I'm getting authentic Honduran coffee?

Every bag of Raíces coffee comes with the complete story of its origin—from the specific farm and farmer to the exact altitude and processing method. We include detailed producer profiles, like Juan Carlos Vásquez from Finca Los Primos, so you know exactly whose hands grew your coffee. Our direct trade relationships mean we can guarantee authenticity because we work face-to-face with our farmers, not through intermediaries.

What makes your direct trade different from fair trade?

While fair trade sets minimum standards, our direct trade goes deeper. We pay our farmers 25% above market prices (not just minimums), commit to 3-year purchase agreements for stability, and maintain personal relationships with each producer. We know our farmers by name, visit their farms, and ensure they receive the premium they deserve. It's not just about fair prices—it's about building lasting partnerships.

How does my purchase actually help Honduran farmers?

Every bag you buy directly supports small-scale farmers through our premium pricing model. Beyond the 25% above-market rates we pay, your purchase helps farmers invest in regenerative farming practices, organic certifications, and equipment improvements. We also share detailed impact reports showing exactly how your coffee purchases create positive change in rural Honduras communities—because transparency is at the heart of everything we do.

How should I brew my Raíces coffee to get the best flavor?

Each of our coffees comes with specific brewing recommendations based on its unique profile. For example, our Santa Barbara Soul's natural process shines with a French press or pour-over to highlight its cocoa and vanilla notes. Our Suyapita Reserve's bright citrus character works beautifully with a V60. We include detailed brewing guides with every order, plus access to our online brewing tutorials—because great coffee deserves great preparation.
