What is Raices?
Raíces — "Roots" in Spanish — exists to bring you the real story behind exceptional Honduran coffee. Not a brand story. The actual story: the farmer's name, the mountain, the process, the harvest.
Honduras grows some of the most extraordinary specialty coffee in the world. Most of it reaches your cup without a name attached. We think that's worth changing.
Every coffee we source is a direct relationship — built on fair prices, long-term commitment, and genuine respect for the people who make it possible. When you buy from Raíces, you know exactly who grew your coffee, where, and how. No shortcuts. No middlemen. No fiction.
You'll notice our mark is simply an R. One letter. Because behind it is everything that matters — the roots, the farmers, the mountains, and the coffee they produce. That's what it stands for. That's what we stand for.
Coffee brought us together, but stories keep us connected.
What We Believe
We believe coffee is more than a beverage—it's a bridge between cultures and communities. "Raíces" means roots in Spanish, and like roots, we believe in going deep—creating authentic connections that nourish both the soil where our coffee grows and the communities where it's enjoyed.
More than coffee—it's a bridge between cultures
Our Farmers, Our Partners
We work directly with small-scale farmers in Honduras' most prestigious coffee regions, building relationships based on trust and shared values. We know our farmers by name, like Juan Carlos Vásquez and Nelson Dominguez who has become part of Raices family.
Every cup makes a difference
Our Roots, Your Impact
Our roots connect the volcanic soil of Honduras with your daily rituals. We pay 25% above market prices and support regenerative farming. When you choose Raíces, you're preserving traditional methods and becoming part of a story that continues in your cup.
Every bean tells a story. We're here to make sure you hear it.
How do I know I'm getting authentic Honduran coffee?
Every bag of Raíces coffee comes with the complete story of its origin—from the specific farm and farmer to the exact altitude and processing method. We include detailed producer profiles, like Juan Carlos Vásquez from Finca Los Primos, so you know exactly whose hands grew your coffee. Our direct trade relationships mean we can guarantee authenticity because we work face-to-face with our farmers, not through intermediaries.
What makes your direct trade different from fair trade?
While fair trade sets minimum standards, our direct trade goes deeper. We pay our farmers 25% above market prices (not just minimums), commit to 3-year purchase agreements for stability, and maintain personal relationships with each producer. We know our farmers by name, visit their farms, and ensure they receive the premium they deserve. It's not just about fair prices—it's about building lasting partnerships.
How does my purchase actually help Honduran farmers?
Every bag of Raíces coffee comes with the complete story of its origin — the specific farm, the farmer's name, the exact altitude, and the processing method. Our direct trade relationships mean we work face-to-face with each producer, not through intermediaries. No shortcuts. No guesswork. Just coffee with a name, a face, and a place.
How should I brew my Raíces coffee to get the best flavor?
Every coffee in our lineup comes with specific brewing recommendations based on its unique profile. El Trueno shines as espresso or pour over, San Fernando is exceptional as a latte, and Finca Alicia reveals its complexity also in a Cold Brew. Remember great coffee deserves great preparation.
